I was legitimately appalled that these people were asking Martin if he got into The Hobbit on anything other than his own merits as an actor. Same goes for Benedict. That is fucking offensive, and honestly, Martin handled it gracefully considering that they just insulted him.

That is incredibly true. No wonder he made the comments he made. Makes you wonder how much of that wasn’t sarcasm.
